Operation Road Safety was successful says ASP Kargbo
The District Traffic Officer (DTO) of Eastern Police Divisional Head Quarters has disclosed that the just concluded Operation Road Safety was a success story.
While making the disclosure to journalists in his office on Wednesday, August 12 this year, ASP Mike Kargbo stated that dozens of drivers and motor bike riders were arrested and charged to court for various offences ranging from driving sublicensing and unregistered Vehicles, driving without driving licensing, smooth tyres, defective wind screen, head light, halfway and using using an unauthorized route.
He highlighted among other things that fines accrued were paid into the consolidated revenue, adding that personnel will still continue to intensify their checks. He affirmed that the Police will leave no stone unturned to bring defaulters to book as we are now in the rainy season.
ASP Saidu Mike Kargbo warned that drivers should ensure that their vehicles are properly checked before plying the road.
He emphasized that the rate of lawlessness by some commercial motor drivers and motor bike riders cannot be over emphasized. ASP Mike Kargbo noted that drivers who are ready to comply with the traffic rules and regulations in the country are his friends and those who don’t want to comply will surely face the full penalty of the law.
