Bollore donates 300kg chlorine to Lunsar

Bollore Group has on Tuesday 16th September 2014 donated 300kg (six cases) and a box of gloves to the Lunsar Community as their continuous contribution in the fight against the Ebola epidemic. The company’s Project Manager, Keith Muller said as the fight against Ebola requires concerted effort, his company thought it fit to be onboard together with the people of Sierra Leone. He pledged the company’s continuous support to the war against Ebola is won.

It can be recalled on 14th August 2014, Bollore presented a cheque to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation as their financial contribution to the fight against Ebola.

The company deemed it wise to make the donation after it realizes that it is here to make a difference in the economy.

Steps have been taken by the company to protect its staff and the public by circulating the necessary literature on EBOLA and the provision of the basic disinfectant/chlorine at all essential points at all locations where there carry on business and operations.

The donation of the items to the District Management Authorities is a channel that was chosen in other to enable them identifies and properly instructs the beneficiaries on the use of the disinfectant.

The company is hoping that the spread of EBOLA is effectively controlled, contained and possibly eradicated in the near future as the people now trust in the work of the Ministry and the action plans put in place by His Excellency the President Ernest Bai Koroma.

The Senior District Officer, Mohamed Sheik Koroma commended Bollore for the gesture, which he said came at the right time. “We have a good number of multi-national companies operating in Lunsar, Bollore is the first to donate at community level after it has done so at national level,” the SDO observed.

The Paramount Chief of Marampa Chiefdom, PC Koblo Queen II, whilst receiving the equipment noted that Ebola is a threat to development and it has jeopardized the peace and security of the state. “This is a recipe for disaster that Bollore is helping us prevent,” he said, added that the materials will be used for its intended purpose, and assured that he will work 24hours with his team to tackle the spread of the Ebola virus in the country. The Bollore team and other stakeholders present at the ceremony were welcomed by the Town Chief, Alfred A. Kamara.
