300 Motor Bikes Impounded

The District Traffic Officer (DTO) ASP Abdul Moijueh, has disclosed to Sierra Express Media that the ‘A’ divisional headquarter together with other colleagues have impound over 300 motor bikes within the Central Business District since he took up office as DTO one month ago.

He added that the riders were arrested for various offences ranging from driving without riders licensing, un licensing and uninsured motor bikes, riding with out crash helmet, riding within the CBD prohibited area for motor bikes and using an unauthorized routes.

He highlighted among other things that the motor bikes has been taken to the police training school (PTS) for safe keeping and proper verification. He pointed out that several warning has been placed for them to desist plying within the CBD if not they will be arrested and charge to court. ASP Moigueh underscored that on May 11th this year, they declared with other DTO’s operation Assuring Road Safety on Motor bikes vehicles and handcart as most of them were arrested and charged to court.

ASP Moigueh maintained that he will continued to act tough on lawless drivers and okada riders within the CBD adding that pillions not wearing crash helmet will also be charged to court.

He indicated that he was formerly the officer commanding Victor Park Police Post underlining that he was also in charge of the popular operation Wid.

He recalled arresting a civilian in full OSD fatigue including eight Pakistanis from Yemen and seven Sierra Leoneans.

“Because of my diligence, loyalty, hard work and impartiality towards work I was recently promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and made the new DTO for ‘A’ divisional headquarters”. ASP Moigueh said. He concluded that since he was enlisted into the SLP he has carved a niche for himself to the admiration of the Executive Management Board (EMB).
