Congo Cross Bus Halt hijacked
If information reaching this paper is anything to go by then the Congo Cross Bus Halt has been hijacked and sold to different people.
According to our source the land in question is property of the Freetown City Council (FCC).
Speaking to a trader living around the area, he said he was very displeased to see people putting up structures on the said land without the FCC authorities challenging them.
He also stated he was not sure whether those building the houses have been given building permits by the Lands Ministry.
According to a senior Police Officer who preferred anonymity, they cannot put a stop to the buildings unless they have received an order from the Court to do so.
It will be recalled that this Bus Stop was effectively managed by the Sierra Leone Road Transport Authority where their vehicles either dropped or loaded passengers.
