ACC Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Public Sector Reform Unit
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the Public Service Reform Unit (PRSU) by way of formalizing the relationship between the two institutions. The signing ceremony took place at the Commission’s Gloucester Street Office in Freetown on Monday 18th March 2013. Mr. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, Commissioner ACC making a statement
In his statement, the Commissioner of the ACC, Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara praised management and staff of (PSRU) for formalizing the relationship with the ACC. Commission Kamara noted that it is important that the two institutions synergize their work in order to gain maximum output. Mr. Kamara noted that the signing of an MOU with PRSU is epoch making and added that the MOU will concretize the relationship between the two institutions. “With the MOU we will be able to tap into expertise, we will benefit from quality work and assurance in the work we do” said Commissioner Kamara.
The Director of Systems and Processes Review Department, Maurice Williams said the MOU came about as a result of several formal and informal engagements between the two institutions. Mr. William stated that the Commission finds it essential to partner with PSRU as the two institutions practically do similar work. The MOU, he said is an attempt to strengthen the bond between the institutions and to jointly engage in the review of MDAs for better service delivery.
The outgoing Director, Public Sector Reform Unit, Dr. Julius Sandy said his institution is delighted to partner with the ACC in an effort to review systems and processes and also to build efficiency in public sector institutions. He said the work of the two institutions deals with public sector therefore both institutions should be mutually re-enforcing and mutually supporting to deliver quality services to the people of Sierra Leone on a timely basis. Dr. Sandy noted that the ACC and PRSU had worked together and had achieved results. He emphasized that with the new partnership both institutions will achieve enormously.

Signing on behalf of the Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner of the ACC, Morlai Buya Kamara expresses similar sentiments and looked forward to the implementation of the MOU.
