Pupil Testifies In Attempted Murder Trial
Prosecution Witness (PW1) named Abdul Kamara a pupil of the Kissy Municipal Secondary School on Monday October 27 testified before Magistrate Komba Kamanda Court No.2 in the Freetown on allegations of attempted murder.
PW1 testified that he recognized the accused person named Samba Bangura and the complainant Abubakarr Kamara who is presently undergoing treatment at the emergency hospital. In his testimonies he said he recalled that on Thursday October 4 this year, at the Kissy Ferry terminal, both the accused and complainant were working on scrap metals adding that Abubakarr took one of the scrap metals to keep it for his own personal use.
He said few minute later, the accused stole the said metal and when asked to return it a brawl ensued between the two and later the accused used a knife he had and stabbed the complainant on the left side of his stomach.
He continued that after the unfortunate incident they rushed at the accused person by removing the knife from his hands, and later handed him over to the police. The witness further noted that 30 minutes later the accused resurfaced from police net to threaten the complainant again, saying he is going to kill him this time and for the second time he removed a knife to stab the complainant. This act causes the complainant to run for his life by jumping over a fence where he fractured his foot, and was immediately taken to the emergency hospital for treatment.
Subsequently the accused person was remanded on October 6, and was later prosecuted by Sgt Jah, Charged with attempted murder contrary to section 11 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
