Native Doctor Charged for Fraud
On Friday 24th August, 2012 David Conteh alias Motorman, a native doctor who resides at Calaba Town appeared before Magistrate Steven Conteh of Court No.1 on two Counts Charges of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20 (1) (b) of the Larceny Act of 1961. After reading the charges, David Conteh pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Sometime in April 2012 at Nimiyama Chiefdom, at the Kono Judicial District, in the Eastern Province of the Republic of Sierra Leone, David Conteh was alleged to have fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit, the sum of $5,000 equivalent to Le21.5 million that was entrusted to him to pay for fifteen acres of land by Mohamed Sesay on behalf of the Sierra Leone Bermuda (SLB Global) Mining Company.
Mohamed Sesay also alleged to have sent another Le21.5 million to David Conteh. The accused David Conteh said he did not remember exchanging money with none of the two.
The Court granted a Le20 million bail on the accused and the matter was adjourned to August 30th, 2012.
