A second half strike from Mohamed L Bangura aka Awoah was enough to secure the maximum points for the Water Front boys as they defeated Central Parade and stretched their lead at the top to 27 points, seven points ahead of second place FC Kallon and Kamboi Eagles.

The victory marks Ports Authority’s second league title in the millennium after their last success came during the 2007/2008 league season and also the second title for Coach Christian Cole who won it way back in 1990 with Old Edwardians.

The delighted match winner, Awoah said he was happy to score the all-important goal to see them win the title.

“I am very happy; I want to dedicate the goal to my father who always wanted me to play for Ports Authority.”

According to Coach Christian Cole who has now won the league as a player and Coach of Ports Authority FC said they deserved the league crown because they proved to be the best team.

“It is the dream of any coach to win title and I’m excited of achieving this success. We’ve fought hard to be crowned the champions and we’ve succeeded,” Cole said.

The team has won the title in 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1995, 2007/2008 and 2011.
