Hit by triple tragedy…APC Weeps
The majority of Sierra Leoneans from all works of life and especially the membership of the main opposition, All Peoples Congress (APC) are still grappling to come to terms with the triple tragedy that befell them in the early afternoon hours of past Sunday, 5th July, 2020, when three key executive members of the APC party including the former Chairman of the National Telecommunications Commission under the Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma led APC government who was also the APC Chairman for Koinadugu District, Momoh Konte (in photo), the Deputy Northern Region Chairman, Saio Marrah and the Northern Region Publicity Secretary of the party, Alakuma Conteh, were snatched by the cold hands of death in a gruesome road accident around Binkolo.
Their deaths especially that of Momoh Konte, the former chairman of NATCOM- who until his tragic demise, was one of the strongest pillars of his party and beyond, remain one of the biggest tragedies the APC has faced in recent times.
The contribution of the late Momoh Konte in the lives of majority of Sierra Leoneans from both his party and others is immeasurable. He was a down-to-earth individual whose kindness knew no bounds.
Known as the political bulldozer, the late man was one of the strongest pillars on which the APC party leaned on before his demise on that fateful day.
His demise leaves an immeasurable pain in minds of the majority of citizens from all political groupings and particularly the APC which without exaggeration, has been heavily relying on his philanthropic gestures to garner support.
Whilst his mortal remains and the two others are set to be laid to rest on Friday, 10th July, 2020, the late man will be sadly missed by everyone within and outside of the APC.
Rest in Peace fallen comrades of the APC.
