Sierra Leone Timber Association Chairman Debunks Media report
The Chairman of the Timber Association of Sierra Leone (TASL), Alhaji Bah, has said that media report linking him and his executive to an alleged $76,000 dollars scam is not only malicious, baseless and unfounded but also a calculated ploy by his detractors to rub mud on his hard-earned reputation.
Mr. Bah was speaking during an interview with Sierra Express Media following allegations that he and his executive allegedly collected the sum of seventy six thousand dollars ($76,000) from various Chinese nationals who are into Timber trade in exchange for an extension of the timber trade which has been greatly affected by the covid-19 pandemic.
This allegation, according to the Timber Association boss, is preposterous to say least and believes that it is the hand work of his detractors whom he said, are hell bent on tarnishing the good name and reputation he has built over the years because of their selfish personal aggrandizements.
‘’I cannot be distracted for I am focused on transforming both my association and the lives of many youth out there whose livelihoods depend on timber trade’ Mr. Bah maintained adding that those who are cooking up lies against him in the name of tarnishing his reputation should try harder next time for they have failed in this.
