Sierra Leone Parliament Approves New RMFA Boss
The Sierra Leone House of Parliament has unanimously approved the new Chief Executive Officer, (CEO) for Road Maintenance Fund Administration (RMFA), Mr .Mohamed Kallon (in photo) in the Well of Parliament, OAU Drive, Tower Hill, Free Town on Tuesday 2nd June 2020.
In his submission, the Leader of Coalition For Change (C4C) in Parliament, Hon. Sahr Emerson Lamina of Constituency 030 hailed President Bio for appointing legally minded people in such institutions.”Their CV’s are very impressive”, he added.
He maintained that he deemed the office of RMFA very important because it has something to do with our feeder roads and also strengthened our local contractors.
He said the office of RMFA has not being having good working relationship with the Sierra Leone Road Authority (SLRA) .He encouraged the new RMFA Boss to make sure that there is good working relationship between RMFA and SLRA.
He ended by encouraging Kallon to use his leadership skills in ensuring that the RMFA improved on its standards.
Speaking in the well of Parliament, the Deputy Leader of the main Opposition, All Peoples Congress (APC), Hon. Ibrahim Ben Kargbo of constituency 034, Bombali District, maintained that a good number of feeder roads across the country need urgent repairs.
“I Am sure President Bio appointed Mr. Kallon after thorough research“, he said.
Hon. Kargbo noted that Sierra Leone is the only country that we have and encouraged the new RMFA Boss to live up to expectation.
In his acceptance message, Mr. Kallon said he had served different institutions including Total Sierra Leone and Total Liberia. “It’s time to give back to my country,” Mr. Kallon emphasized and bragged that he would make sure that he brings new innovation to RMFA.
He further stated that funds that come out of RMFA are from the people of Sierra Leone and spoke on the important to manage it well. He continued that if he assumed office he would use his expertise to improve the status of RMFA.
The new RMFA Boss noted that he is not a magician but he believes in integrity, honesty and transparency. He assured Members of Parliament of his total commitment towards the development of RMFA.
