TASL Joins fight against COVID-19
The Timber Association Sierra Leone (TASL) has joined Government efforts in the fight to kick the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) out of Sierra Leone.
Responding to an interview at his Calaba Town office, the President for TASL, Alhaji Bah stated that the Union had been engaging it members in massive sensitization on the effect and prevention of the Virus in all their areas of operation since President Julius Maada Bio’s call for swift intervention against the menace.
The President said TASL has distributed veronica buckets, sanitizers, soap and other essential preventive items to all their deport in the Western Rural District
He said the association has also alerted leaders of all deport on social distancing, hand washing and to avoid hand shaking in all their locations.
Mr. Bah spoke about the bye-laws they have instituted on hand washing and social distancing before one could be allowed to enter any deport.
He explained plan to take the COVID-19 sensitization and distribution of preventive materials to the provincial areas whenever the partial 14 days lockdown restriction is lifted by the Government, noting that he is currently working closely with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation while making sure that TASL membership adhered to the rules and regulations set up by Government against COVID-19.
However, President Bah applauded the Government and leadership of President Bio for putting in place drastic measures for the virus to be quickly kicked out of the country.
