For failing to pay $12,000 Security Cost…RDC’S Court Matter Thrown Out

A judge at the Fast Track Commercial in Sierra Leone on 3rd March, 2020 struck out the matter between Alie Abess Transport and General Enterprises, the substantive contractor of the 50 City School buses and RDC Ghana, the self-styled Ghanaian Company that signed an MOU for the procurement of 200 Golden Dragon Buses in August, 2018 but woefully failed to live up to it.

The said matter was filed by RDC Ghana at the Fast Track Commercial Court over balance payment which is way above what the manufacturer states, its claims the substantive contractor of the 50 buses owes despite the fact that it has no financial stake in the execution of the said contract.

According to Sierra Leone laws, any foreign company who wants to sue a local company in Sierra Leone must first pay a security cost guarantee before the matter could proceed.

However, RDC Ghana, after initially failing to pay the $12,000 security cost slammed by the learned judge at the Fast Track Commercial Court over a fourteen (14) day period, could not also raise the said money even after it had begged for more time at the last hearing.

RDC’s failure to raise a mere $12,000 as security cost for almost a month speaks volume of how deceptive the company which had earlier claimed to be the dealer of Golden Dragon and which had bragged to have the capacity to pre-finance the procurement of 200 buses costing around 20 to 30 million dollars, has been to both the Sierra Leone Peoples Party led government and the people of Sierra Leone.

It is now very clear from all that had transpired beginning with it fake MOU for 200 buses to its surreptitious involvement through the help of some selfish individuals within the Transport Ministry and the former Chairman of the National Commission for Privatization ( NCP),  in the procurement of the 50 school buses that RDC is nothing but a cork who had wanted to reap where and what it did not sow
