Kamarainba Punches Bio Again

The Chairman and Leader and former Presidential candidate for the Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba has told the Africa Young Voices Television (AYV TV) that President Julius Maada Bio has failed tremendously since he became President way back April 4th, 2018.

Mr. Kamarainba recalled that recently, President Bio admitted that the people have become impatient and they wanted to see tangible result, adding that during the Presidential Debate held at Bintumani Hotel in Freetown, all presidential candidates’ promised to do great things. He furthered that since President Bio won the Presidential race, situation is getting worse and horrible for citizens and the country as a whole. He spoke on the importance of address the issue of bread and butter because; according to him a cup of rice is now sold Le2, 000. He discussed that every Sierra Leonean has now become tired of the too many excuses from the Government adding that, nobody asked President Bio to run for President. He maintained that President Bio went for the presidency because he thought he would fix the country’s problem. He continued that, within 22 months since President Bio has taken the mantle of power, hardship and inflation of prices of basic commodities have become the order of the day.

He recounted that 22 years, President Bio was unemployed, advancing that now that he has been given the best job in the land, he is expected to create the enabling environment where the working population could seek jobs and develop themselves.

On the issue of the International Monitory Fund (IMF) and World Bank praising the Bio administration of stabilizing the economy, Mr. Kamarainba responded that the two international institutions did not vote for President Bio but it was Sierra Leoneans that voted for him. He discussed that the institutions discussed did not want Africa to prosper.

In fact, he said, that is why they are using propaganda in running our poor economy. He stated that food, shelter and clothing are the basic needs of the common people and emphasized on how the past Government of former President Koroma was criticized. He disclosed that Koroma was spending 170 Billion Leones to pay himself, Vice, President, Ministers and other members of his cabinet. He explained that President Bio is now spending Le255B to address the same.

“The current Vice President and each of the Ministers is receiving over Le70M for rent allowance annually”, Kamarainba confirmed and described President Bio’s Government as the largest in the history of the country. He dilated that President Bio doesn’t need to add more ministries in his Government for the fact that, it will expose him to unnecessary spending.

He updated that within April 2018 to December, President Bio has spent over three million dollars to facilitate his travel trips to Europe and other parts of the world. He stated that President Bio should allow other members of his cabinet to represent him so that the amount of Government money he uses to travel will be cut down.

Mr. Kamarainba encouraged the Julius Maada Bio Government to stop blaming the opposition of causing the current trying times.

On the issue of the Free Quality Education (FQE), Mr. Kamarainba said the Government rushed to implement the scheme properly. He sensitized that the Government should have firstly developed quality in classroom by building more schools and reduced the population. He recalled teachers are paid higher than ministers in Germany to enhance quality education.

However, Kamarainba commended President Bio as one of the sitting President to remove both Minister and his Deputy for rice saga within few months. He urged President Bio to put his words of determination to give more red cards to underperforming Government officials to show that he is really serious to fight corruption.
