As he extends COVID -19 Support to Koinadugu & Falaba More Endorsements For Samura Kamara
Following a busy weekend in his home town of Kamalo, Kerene District, where he provided substantial support to disaster victims, the old and needy, former APC flagbearer and presidential candidate, Dr Samura Kamara extended his nation-wide COVID -19 financial support to Koinadugu and Falaba districts.
This was part of his northern region leg of a nationwide project aimed at alleviating the sufferings of compatriots worse affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. During a short ceremony, which was fully compliant with the COVID -19 protocols, Dr Samura Kamara extolled the people of Koinadugu for their bravery and resilience amidst the harsh economic realities they continue face before and after the start of the Corona Virus outbreak in Sierra Leone.
He also used the occasion to preach unity amongst members of his political party. Dr. Samura Kamara underscored the need to come together for the sole objective of returning the party to State House in 2023.
“I am not in competition with no one and I believe the only thing Sierra Leoneans want at this critical moment is for the APC party to come together strong and united. I have personally reached out to my Comrades including Dr. Kelfala Marah because I am convinced that with unity, victory is ours in 2023″* Samurai Kamara stressed. In concluding, the man widely billed to lead the APC in 2023, paid glowing tribute to the fallen APC politicians from the two districts like the late Momoh Konteh, Alukuma Conteh and Saio Marah.
Notable highlights of the meeting were open endorsements by APC ‘grassroots’ of Dr Samura’s flag bearer aspiration by the grassroots.
Kadie Koroma, a single mother of eight who has lost her livelihood owing to economic mismanagement and the effects of COVID -19 was very grateful for the timely financial intervention. *”May God bless Samura and Kamara and his wife for this support. This support has come when we needed it most. We will surely return this favour one day”*
Indeed, Dr Samura Kamara’s benevolence and genuine display of empathy for his fellow citizens in these very difficult times is a clear manifestation of his strong desire to operationalize his social safety nets pillar espoused in his 2018 campaign manifesto.
Another beneficiary from Falaba District, Hajah Marrah was rather less restrained when she averred; *”I feel very happy today for what Dr Samura Kamara has done for us. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be the chosen on to lead this country out of poverty”*
General consensus is that even those who are in government with all the resources at their disposal and the substantial international support we have heard about, have not come to aid with such an financial support.
