Former ACC Commissioner Bids Farewell
The former Anti-Corruption Commissioner, Hon. Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara, ESQ, on Tuesday 5th January bade farewell to the Board, Management, and Staff of the ACC after taking the Oath of Office at State House, following his appointment as Attorney General and Minister of Justice.In his statement after the ceremony, His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, expressed confidence in Mr. Kamara’s ability to acquit himself following his successful tenure as Commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). The outgone Commissioner thanked His Excellency for the confidence reposed in him and promised to carry out his new mandate diligently.
Meanwhile, at a valedictory ceremony organized by the ACC at the Beccles-Davies Memorial Hall, Cathedral House, Freetown, glowing tributes were paid to Mr. Kamara’s dedication and commitment to duty by the Board, Management and Staff of the Commission.
In his remarks, the Deputy Commissioner, Shollay Davies, described his former boss as “a great friend, a mentor, and a great leader.” He said the outgone Commissioner is leaving behind a solid management as his legacy. Director of Public Education, Koloneh Sankoh, also described Mr. Kamara as “hardworking, disciplined, and success driven Commissioner.” The Chairman, Advisory Board, Bishop Tamba A. Koroma, described Mr. Kamara as “a good team player who has left a positive impression for all to copy.” Similar sentiments were also expressed by the Staff Welfare Secretary General, Junisa Sankoh, Regional Manager South, Samuel Marrah, and representative of junior staff, Paul Koroma.
In his response, Mr. Kamara thanked the Board, Management and Staff of the ACC for relentlessly cooperating with him. He assured all that he will use his new office to increase the aggression against corruption, adding that, anti-corruption is his constituency.Meanwhile, the fight against corruption continues unabated.
