Notorious land racketeers to cough up Le15M

The Presiding Magistrate of court No. 6 Mohamed Seray Wurie, who doubles as the acting Principal Magistrate of Court No. 1, has ordered a notorious land racketeer in the Gloucester community, Sonny Kanu, to cough out the sum of Fifty Million Leones which he defrauded one Cecilia Moifoulla in 2010 with the false pretence that he had a parcel of land for sale.

The land racketeer made his first appearance before the magistrate on Friday 30^th July this year but he was refused bail and was sent to the correctional service center.

When the matter resumed hearing yesterday, the magistrate insisted that the accused will never be granted bail until he repaid the last penny to the complainant. The accused was again refused bail and remanded.

The matter is persecuted by SGT Macauley while the accused is yet to be represented. The matter resumes hearing today.
