Italian Government Supports Salone Ebola Surviours
The Government of Italy’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, has supported over 1,000 Ebola Survivors, Children, and Parents with rice, beans, vegetable oil, salt, etc.
Speaking at a presentation Ceremony at the Moraldo Vocational Institute on main Bai Bureh Road, Kissy, the Child Protection Manager Coopi, Mr. Marco Loiodic said their role is to implement the project and also monitor the said process for effective reporting and feed backs from targeted beneficiaries which will be done alongside the Ministry of Social Welfare Gender and Children Affairs base on a comprehensive list of survivor children and their parents provided by the Ministry.
Coopi Child Protection Manager maintained that on receipt of the survivors list, their social workers were sent to verify the said list before they commenced the implementation proper.
He pointed that the project will target selected communities in both the western and rural areas like Portee and Calaba Town Community in the western area and Kissy Town, Joe Town and Kissy Koya Communities respectively with duration of six months adding that plans are on the way to extend to other communities nationwide soonest.
He commended the Social Welfare Ministry and the World Food Programmed for their restless support given to his Organization during the outbreak.
