Chairman Assures Residents of Full Power Supply

The board Chairman of Bo Kenema Power Services (BKPS) Sheik Sillah over the weekend assured resident and customers of BKPS who reside in both the City of Bo and Kenema of adequate power supply after the 53rd celebration of Sierra Leone Independence.

Sheik Sillah made this statement in a one on one interview made with him by this journalist at his Tinkokor Road office in Bo City Southern part of Sierra Leone, he said that the people of Bo and Kenema have been long suffering from the inadequate power supply by BKPS which according to him was as a result of mechanical problems that erupt from the dam in Dodo which according to him those problems will be solved soon.

Talking about the Never Die Company electricity supply, Sillah said that project was fake and an inadequate one and that is why his institution decided not to go into contract with them and to let their offer go and to look for a better solution in solving the problems of the inadequate power supply for the people of Kenema and Bo.

Sheik Sillah reiterated that in complementing President Ernest Bai Koroma’s Agenda for Prosperity in the area of energy and power as an institution they decided to seek another alternative by going in to buy a 4.5 megawatt thermal generator to supply electricity to the people of Bo and Kenema till the Dodo dam is maintained.  Adding that the 4.5 megawatt thermal generator can adequately supply electricity and admonished the people to pay their light bills to enhance the smooth running of the institution.
