New Police Post for Wellington
Hon. Ibrahim Nox Sankoh of Constituency 97 in the Western Urban has pledged to single handedly construct a police post at the mountainous area of Wellington, east end of Freetown.
Speaking to this press earlier in the week, Hon. Sankoh described the upper mountain of his constituency as a very dangerous area, especially at night and fears that bad people reside in such area, adding that most of the problems associated security, such as armed robbery emanate from that area, particularly when vehicular traffic is very difficult to come by at Up Mountain, as it known in Wellington.
The area in question, according to the MP, includes Loko Town, Kamara Town, Koya Town, among others.
He said the turning of the sod for the construction of the post will take place in October 2013. He said as part of his development effort he has asked the Energy minister to provide the area with solar light.
“In addition to the construction of a market at Old Wharf, I have also lobbied for the rehabilitation of Taylor Street in Peacock-Farm,” he disclosed to SEM.
