London Mining installs more culverts in Lunsar to prevent flooding

London Mining Company (LMC) in continuing its support to the Lunsar community last week installed two more culverts at the Technical Bypass Road and the Haul Road to forestall flooding in the town.

During a conducted tour of the area, LMC Infrastructure and Engineering Services Manager, Francis H. Lahai, told reporters the company is cutting more drainage in roads to prevent flooding in the town during the rainy season.

A resident of Lunsar, Alie Kamara, told Sierra Express Media that if it had not been for the timely intervention of LMC flood water would have affected houses on the Technical Bypass Road and other areas in the town.

According to the Company’s Head of Media Relations, Osman Lahai, in June this year, LMC spent US$91,000 to cut drains and culverts in Port Loko Road and Fofanah Street in Lunsar after flash floods destroyed houses and threatened the safety of residents in the town.
