Evangelical Mission in Holland boosts Port Loko mission

Port Loko, (SLENA) – The Evangelical Institute of Technology in Polo Loko is a beneficiary of a consignment of teaching and learning materials estimated at millions of leones.

The consignment which comprised of computers, classroom administrative equipment and stationery was a donation from friends of the Evangelical Mission in Holland. It was formally presented by the proprietor of the mission, Rev. Solomon Paul Gazali who said at the ceremony that the essence of the donation was not only to enhance technology in the education sector but to also address contemporary issues that will ensure self-reliance and national development.

Rev. Gazali observed that the world is gearing towards computer literacy and stressed the need for proper skills training in all spheres of middle level management so as to enable residents of the district secure gainful employment in the various mining companies.

 He however urged for the proper use and care of the facilities so that future students can also benefit.

Amid Dumbuya, the Director of Studies at the institute who received the package on behalf of both staff and students, spoke of the timeliness of the donation and commended the proprietor for his foresightedness.

The Registrar, Pastor Hassan Kamara and a representative of the student body praised those who helped in actualizing their dream and assured the donors of the judicious use of the materials.

The Port Loko Evangelical Institute of Technology was established in 1971 and the mission has since established over 150 of such institutions country wide.
