Plans to detain President Koroma

An organization called Women Timap has revealed plans to detain President Koroma at State House if he does not accept running for a third term.

This was disclosed by the president of the organization, Mary Hannah Jaiah who is the Deputy Mayor of the Freetown City Council.  She made the revelation at a jam-packed meeting recently at the Evangelical Primary School at Quarry in Freetown.

Madam Jaiah said their organization will soon meet the president to prevail on him to accept running a third term and that if he does not accept, they will not allow him to leave State House until he accepts.

The Deputy Mayor described President Koroma as a kind leader who has transformed Sierra Leone into a works yard, noting that the nation cannot afford to lose such an industrious president.

According to her, there is nothing wrong in asking the president to run a third term. Madam Jaiah recalled that years ago, the British people who are the fathers of democracy asked Margaret Thatcher to run a third term.

Hannah Jaiah noted that the organisation will soon be launched in Mile 91 for President Koroma to go a third term, disclosing their plans to launch President Koroma’s third term campaign nationwide.

She asserted that even though there are other competent people to contest 2017, they are begging the president to vie the third time to give him the opportunity to do more to salvage this nation from abysmal poverty.

The East District Chairman, Comrade Amadu Bangura, stated that the country is operating on a flexible constitution and not a rigid one and called on the people of this country to support President Koroma’s third term in office.

  • As head of the Atayabase Union in Sierra Leone, the largest youth organization in the country. Is too early for me to go deep on this discussion, but rather helping people who want to see the progress and the backwardness of our lovely Salone that the best we could as Sierra Leoneans is to make sure we all contribute to the future of our country.I am in Beijing China when i came across this discussion and i am happy to send my contribution to the debate. • This is nonsense and clear madness. Most of us support the leadership style of Koroma. However, he can still serve our nation even after this second and final term ends and not to seek for a third term

  • The idea to ask Dr Ernest Koroma to go for third term is fine. However, I suggest that Timap launch Sierra Leone presidential third term or even an open ended term not only to Ernest Koroma, but to all incoming presidents. Also it should involve well meaning organisations and bodies in this campaign
