Sierra Leone Tourism College to train secretaries

College of Travel and Tourism Studies (CTTS) has introduced new courses as part of its curriculum to train clerks and secretaries in the purpose of working in the law firms and other related offices.

Certificates and Diplomas in Legal Secretariat courses are basically gearing towards giving insight in the general use of law so that clerks and secretaries will be able to correctly assist legal practitioners in forensic and other chambers of work.

Principal of CTTS, Amadu Sheriff, revealed that the college introduced this new course out of the urge to strengthen secretaries and clerks in the law sector to be more productive and fast track the work of the sector more adequately. He said the college has acquired batteries of lecturers to kick start the courses this year as entries are still in progress.

CTTS is the only recognized college in Sierra Leone by the International Air Transport Association (IATA-Canada) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT-UK); the college is also registered with NCTVA and the Technical Education Council of Sierra Leone.

Umaru Bangura, the Director of Studies at CTTS underscored that the Freetown campus in particular has additional advantages in that the campus is located in the heart of the city, close to the chambers and the law courts downtown. He said the college has helped to empower several work places, noting that most of their students are now gainfully employed.
