Vandy Konneh to Replace Victor Foh
The Regional Commissioner of the Persons with Disability Commission South, Vandy Konneh, is to succeed the outgoing APC Secretary-General, Victor Bockarie Foh (in photo). Vandy Konneh is among the first candidate to express intention for the top position.
Vandy Konneh was recruited into the party and mentored by Mr. Foh, therefore, he has the excellent political characteristics of the outgoing Secretary-General, making him the fittest for the post should the APC appreciates the good works of Victor Foh. Mr. Konneh was an apprentice of Victor Foh for several years and in the trying days of the party and subsequently the success of the party to government.
Konneh is the founder of Executive Director of the Disability Rights Movement, founding member of the National Youth Councils, a product of the Orthopeadic Technical Centre in Makeni where he served persons with disabilities. He is the first national staff of Handicapped International and first independent aspirant for Mayor of the Bo City Council. He is a member of several human rights and civil society institutions with over twenty years experience in human and environmental development. Mr. Konneh is a renowned Sierra Leonean who does not believe that tribalism, regionalism, gender and disability are barriers for collective development.
This young and dynamic contestant has pledged to transform the party into a more democratic and all inclusive party like the ANC in South Africa. He has promised to create job opportunities for young people, social investment and economic endowment through the party’s generated revenue. The would-be National Secretary-General has promised the party and the nation foster more solidarity among the tribes and political parties.
Mr. Konneh concluded by congratulating the outgoing Secretary-General for his outstanding and memorable political achievements, also congratulating the Leader and Chairman of the APC, His Excellency Ernest Bai Koroma for his relentless efforts in realizing the Party’s manifesto via the Agenda for Prosperity.
