Local Unit Commander “D” division Kissy Superintendent A C Koroma confirmed to this medium, following the riotous conduct that took place  5th November 2012 at the Texaco Lorry Park, that several people sustained severe wounds and a loss of properties worth millions of Leones.

According to the Superintendent the situation is unfortunate as it is tantamount to the breech of peace and security of the nation, especially at a point when it is only ten days to elections.

The police boss furthered that medical forms have been issued to the victims while the Western Area Regional Chairman Sarana Kainbanja, who is alleged to have machinated the ugly incident, is presently in custody.

It could be recalled that the past Drivers’ Union president Alhaji Abubakarr Fofanah was levied with a vote of no confidence as a result of allegations of embezzlement and financial impropriety, and was replaced by Ibrahim Sesay (AKA) Coordinator.

Meanwhile personnel of the Kissy “D” Division headed by ASP Gbandagbla have been deployed to the troubled lorry park in Kissy while 13 members of the union were arraigned by Magistrate Komba Kamanda of Court # 2 and were granted bail of Le5 million each.

The matter has been adjourned to the 13thNovember, 2012.
