Islamic Women Promote Pride of Womanhood

The Islamic Women Organization is all set to promote the pride of womanhood and to discourage nakedness of women folks in Sierra Leone.

At a colourful programme that was organized by the Islamic Women Organization in Sierra Leone while joining Muslim counterparts all over the world to celebrate the feast of Eid-ul-Adha at the Jui community, the female president and founder of this organization, Haja Fatima Zahra Kamara noted with dismay that the way and manner in which female youths are mostly dressed thus exposing areas of the body that are supposed to be covered has become a growing concern for them in the organization.

She noted that presently her organization is in the process of strengthening the dress code of women across the length and breadth of the country.

She commended the Arab World League through the efforts of her husband Dr. Abib Sheriff for supporting her organization to actualize the initiative.

The President pointed that her organization is collaborating with the Islamic Council of Imams to join in the process of educating these young future leaders in our society. Presently Haja Fatima noted that her base is the Jui communities, where she wants the Headquarters of this organization to be based.  However she has provided them with a mosque and an Islamic School, not withstanding plans to establish a medical centre, an orphanage, a boarding home for the kids and other community recreational facilities.

She called on the Government through the Lands Ministry to provide them with land space to actualize community development.

Haja Fatima Zahra Kamara went on to state her disappointment over the attitude of the Jui community headman who has always frustrated her efforts in the promotion of Islam and development.

She noted that 300 kids were at camp and were schooled on ethics of the Ijab and Islam doctrine.

She noted that during the holiday period she will proceed to other parts of the country to replicate her initiative to other female youths.
