Usu Boie crowned ‘Father of Fambul’ in Sierra Leone

Led in speech on behalf of the Market Women and Traders’ Development Foundation (FAMBUL), Borbor 4 E-mot said a cross section of the Sierra Leone populace are disturbed over Usu Boie’s recent pronouncement in the northern Mandingo speaking town of Karina, in the Biriwa Limba Chiefdom, that he is neither APC nor SLPP which to them means the former heavyweight contender is hosting plans to quit the political race in the country too soon.

“We see Usu Boie as a political asset who is capable enough to provide alternative leadership for the country should the incumbent Ernest Bai Koroma give way in the next round of elections.  We cannot see him quit his political journey so early in the race”, he stated, adding that they as constituents of the FAMBUL organization entertained the belief that the former heavyweight title contender in the opposition is going to see it fit to join President Koroma who would be willing to make him his strong political match come 2012 elections and in turn put him in readiness to take over from him (Ernest) in the 2017 political race.

He said even though, as traders, some of their members are not educated and some of them are only coming to know Usu Boie for the first time, they have been following his worth in line with his vision for change, forthrightness, dedication in work, with a proven track record in his mines working career, in his religious undertakings and development focus before his interest in politics and even after he joined the political mainstream he still do not allow his record to fall, which is why they would regret it should they sit idly by to allow his political image fade away without recuperating him.

Hajaratu Sesay, Vice President of FAMBUL organization who doubles as President of the Kroo Town Road market said, Usu Boie has excelled over the ranks in the past time which makes him a no mean politician.  She urged Usu Boie to consider himself as a man of the people and should prepare now to come out of the political shock he is bedridden within the opposition to join the forthright Ernest Bai Koroma, who is all set for a second term victory and with whom they have similar vision to redeem the people of Sierra Leone from the wrath of roguish politicians with self interests.

Halimatu Sesay, President of FAMBUL, believes Usu Boie’s strong fame and support in the Western Area, North and Southeast of the country is capable to convert supporters from those strongholds into the APC.  She banks on their motto: “Stronger than before” to challenge the supposition that a Usu Boie-Ernest Bai Koroma merger would cement a 2012 election clean sweep victory for the APC.

Gbassay Kamara, President of the Hagan Street Market, said the redeemer is in the persons of Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara and Ernest Bai Koroma.  He said if Usu Boie is ready to work with the wish of the people, he has crowned himself champion over defeat of his detractors – a win that would boost confidence in the political camps of the ruling All People’s Congress. “It would mean that other members in the pipeline who have wanted to come over would fill with confidence in themselves and come over to show the difference,” he stated.

Santigie Kamara, the Public Relations Officer, (PRO) said FAMBUL is going to be the sole organization taking the onus of bringing the much talked about Usu Boie into the APC fold.

In his response Alhaji Usman Boie Kamara said his top priority in his political career has been women.  He said he believes he can still empower women in his single capacity without politics because he is one individual who believe strongly that the empowerment of women is an engine to growth of the nation.  He said he is a man that loves humanity and has respect for every shade of opinion as they come along.  He promised to give the issue a serious thought but called on the organization to make their considerations and thoughts clear to President Koroma.

He said he believes he is a mixer but the people of Sierra Leone hold the answer to these very many suppositions.  He assured the FAMBUL organization of his willingness to contribute in earnest towards nation building in whatever capacity he would deem fit.

It is no secret anymore that, strong and solidly committed political parties and leaders have been vying for Usu Boie’s crossing over signature of acceptance.
