The police killing… White Boy, 3 others named
The Bo report undoubtedly accused 4 police officers for the murdering and shooting of harmless people during the Bo disturbances.
Police Constable 12381 B.S Mansaray commonly known as White Boy, according to the report, was held responsible for willfully murdering Abdulai Sesay – a bike rider, and police constables 12558 Alhansan Khandi Conteh, 12562 Augustine Sanu and Sergeant 6220 Conteh Kekuda for shooting harmless Bo residents.
It is a fact that after the commotion in Bo on September 9th, a committee was appointed by President Koroma to fully investigate the crux of the unrest and submit findings to him.
Just when the committee concluded their investigation, they abidingly submitted a report to the President for action.
In the report, it was mentioned that some supporters of the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) were held responsible for the burning of about 3 houses, supporters of the All People Congress (APC) for stoning and wounding on the head, Julius Maada Bio- Presidential flagbearer SLPP, and 4 police officers (all attached to the operation security division) for the killing of a bike rider and shooting and wounding of 13 people.
Even though the committee stated that the President must unfailingly act upon recommendations in the report and ensure that persons found culpable are dealt with by law, not one of the four police officers have been evenly charged just as was done to the civilians.
It is a fact that civilians hauled up for perpetrating the Bo and Kono violence were refused bail and made to spend weeks at the central maximum prison in Freetown before being granted bail last Friday 21st.
In the report, it is stated that preceding to killing of the bike rider by officer ‘White Boy,’ the deceased begged for him not to shoot but that his plea was ignored nay his killing by White Boy.
