President frowns at FBC election

The president of the Journalists for Attitudinal and Behavioral(JABC) Edie Tayor George Temple has told this medium that he was not happy about  the negative behavior and attitude the students of Fourah Bay College manifested during their student union election which took place on Friday 27th May 2010.He said the  high degree of violence that the students of the college portrayed has clearly sent a signal that our great nation will be on the hands of educated people who could not properly handle public affairs without involving cheating and violence. He referred to the  SU Election as non credible, independent and transparent considering the involvement of the University authority and some key government politicians which he failed to disclose to this press their names, who actively involved themselves in the electioneer  process.

Mr. Temple said the voting ended almost 10 to 11PM after the Chief Electoral Commissioner Mr. Soriebah Dafia had nullified the process after experiencing some interference in the election. He continued to express that as a journalist he was shocked to see the Head of the University, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Thomas Numah, and the Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Raymond Kamara who disrespected themselves because of the election.

He however called on students to embrace each other as the people of the nation rely on them to man the affairs of the nation.

Based on malpractices involved during the election the election result has been cancelled. The question now is are they going to conduct another election or will the SU government in power will continue to role?
