Eagle Africa Radio GM Attacked

The General Manager (GM) for Eagle Africa Radio, Theophilus Sahr Gbenda who also serves as the Producer/Presenter of a popular program known as ’Burning Issues’ was attacked by three unknown armed robbers with knives, daggers and other dangerous weapons whilst he was on his way home from the Golden Tulip Hotel at Aberdeen in Freetown after attended the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists SLAJ presidential pre-election on the 13th July 2019.

According to the victim, the ugly incident took place at the Ascension Town environs at about 2:00 am by three unknown armed robbers thereby forcefully and brutally snatched away his sophisticated mobile phones and other properties worth millions of Leones.

According to the GM, he managed to escape from the thoughtless criminals trap through the help of the highest God although, other valuable items including a digital camera, mobile phones, two audio recorders ipad, passport, data, power banks among other relevant documents were taken away.

‘’I fought them fiercely but unfortunately they overpowered me and I sustained serious internal and external bodily pains in the struggle to survive”, he told reporters.

To God be the glory because the GM said, without the power of the most high God, “I would have damaged beyond cure and I should have even lost my life,” he further told reporters adding, one among the thieves who recognized him warned colleagues stabbing him.

However, the General Manager of Eagle Africa Radio is currently under serious and critical medical attention in a private hospital and the perpetrators are still on the run because according to the victim it seems as if it was a setup plan by some unpatriotic individuals to crush one of the most influential and popular Journalists in the country.
