Five Police Officers In Alleged Gang Rape
The Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Sierra Leone Police Force as a department is currently investigating a case of an alleged gang rape of a 17 year old girl involving some five police officers attached to the Bo West Police division.
According to the stories being told by the very many of those who witnessed the Sierra Leone Police Identification Parade that was conducted some few days back and subsequently on 31st of January 2019, said with mixed views that on Sunday the 26th day of January 2018 a team of night patrol police officers attached to the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT went out on a night patrol exercise as usual in this process they came across a girl age 17, at a popular business center of town called TOTAL along the Towama junction and the team got her arrested for an offence titled ( INDECENT EXPOSURE dressing likely half naked.)
However, she was taken to the police station that faithful night for further questioning according to them, but disappointingly the professional intention was just the opposite but the poor girl ended up in a vulnerable situation at the mercy of the night she was allegedly GANG RAPED by some five police officers that were on duty that fateful night right at the back of the police station in-between the police garage and that of the police public toilet. The police has worked studiously to distinguish between fact and allegation by conducting an open IDENTIFICATION PARADE under the watchful eyes of some senior police officer in that division and to your disappointment some two police officers were repeatedly identified by the 17 year old girl as they were the police officers who raped her that night.
Two police officers are now helping the Family Support Unit ( FSU) in their Investigations while plans are on the way to get them suspended and later brought forward with criminal charges .
