Tommy Lee to battle Samuel Decker in Kick Boxing

The mostly anticipated kick boxing champion’s fight between the current heavyweight kick boxing champion in Sierra Leone, Alusine Mansaray popularly known as ‘Tommy Lee’ and the decade long kick boxing champion, Samuel Decker is scheduled to take place on the 17th November 2018 at the Saint Michael Hall, Kissy, East of Freetown Municipality. The star prize for the fight is twenty million leones (Le 20,000,000).

In an exclusive interview with this medium, the 2016/2018 heavyweight kick boxing champion in Sierra Leone, Alusine Mansaray fondly called Tommy Lee who is representing the east part of Freetown said he is well prepared to face Samuel Decker whom he described as a seasoned fighter with wealth of experience in the ring.

Tommy Lee said he has represented Sierra Leone in various championship competitions in Africa, Asia and the world at large including but not limited to; the 2014 world championship in ‘Towa’ fight hosted in Iran where he progress into the knockout stage, Judo African championship in Morocco. In 2004, he won the Karate championship in Sierra Leone.

In the 2016 Sierra Leone Strongest man competition, Tommy Lee defeated Sulaiman Bah in kick boxing in less than one minute in the first round. A fight many described as the fastest in the history of game in Sierra Leone. With confidence he said, “I will defeat Samuel Decker in the second rounds because my fans always complaint that I don’t give them the chance to enjoy the worth of their money. With my international experience, I will make my fans proud of me again as I use to.”

In response to Tommy Lee’s boasts, Samuel Decker said though he has respect for his opponent Tommy Lee, he is more than ready to show Sierra Leoneans that he is indeed the only heavyweight champion in the country.

Samuel Decker stated that martial art is part of him and he is always ready to face the ring. He disclosed to this medium that he had won the Edward Akar Karate Championship in Sierra Leone in 1996, adding that he also won the Victor Amara championship whilst he was middle weight in 2003, and became the heavyweight champion in Sierra Leone in 2005. He added that in 2008, he won the Mano River championship as team captain for Sierra Leone and heavyweight champion as an individual. “During that Mano River Championship, Tommy Lee fought in the middle weight category. We have never met in the ring because we are not in the same weight category. I currently weigh 95kg whilst Tommy Lee weighs 80kg.” Decker stated

He continued that “Tommy Lee says he has represented the country on three occasions, but what laurel did he bring back home? As for me, I brought gold medal for Sierra Leone in the Mano River Championship.”

He said the competition is not only for him and Tommy Lee but it is between East versus West. Decker is the head coach and leader of the West team and Tommy Lee is the head coach and leader for the East team. Each team is expected to present five fighters and it’s about who is who?

Samuel Decker is currently the chief instructor of the Ling Ping School of Martial Art and the assistant national coach for kick boxing in the country.
