As free Education Kicks Off Port Loko AIG Advices Education Ministry

The erudite Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police in the Port Loko District Police Division, Northern-West Region, Sierra Leone, Amos Kargbo has issued a piece of advice to authorities in the Ministry of Basic Primary and Secondary Education to go by the aims and objectives of Government towards its desire to implement Free Quality Education nationwide.

He called on authorities in the sector to work hand in glove with the Sierra Leone Police with the sole aim of weeding out or bring to book any school head including principal, headmaster and teacher that may attempt to hinder or sabotage Government’s effort to provide quality free education by extorting parents.

The no-nonsense AIG also cautioned colleague Police officers to be very vigilant and conscious enough in controlling traffic or the free flow of vehicles along main streets and highways for the safety of school children and general road users.

In his short contribution, the Acting District Traffic Officer (DTO), Inspector Sanpha Bangura vowed to ensure all rules and regulations governing traffic are executed within the framework of the law adding that it is their responsibility to protect children in the road while going to school.

He came to his conclusion by calling on the hierarchy of the Sierra Leone Police to provide them with vehicle to effect Police patrols in the environs and finally, he urged traffic police officers to make sure Okada riders go by the dictate of the law or they deal with any defaulter accordingly.
