Anti-graft Chief targets 3 years to succeed at the ACC

Anti-Corruption Commission’s Boss, Francis Ben-Kaifala has in an exclusive interview disclosed that he has targeted for himself three years in his crusade to fight corruption as the Head of the anti-graft agency.

Though he recognises that corruption always fights back, the lawyer by profession Boss says once systems are put in place to block the leakages, and people realise that there are no sacred cows, it makes the fight against corruption a little less difficult.

The Commissioner believes that success in the fight against corruption is made less challenging when corrupt public officials know that they will face the full penalty of the law if found wanting and that stolen wealth will be recovered from them.

The ACC Chief disclosed that for several months now, the government has been running the country purely on revenue that it is generating without needing to look for resources elsewhere.

He hopes that the country will have a huge turnover in the fight against corruption and if he could achieve a lot of that in his first three years in office, he would have been a very proud man.

However, he called on all Sierra Leoneans to provide him and his team all the support needed to change this negative narrative of the country.
