Police Update Media On State Of Security
Report from the Sierra Leone Police has confirmed to this medium that the Shandong Steel Mining Company has completed payment of end of service benefits to 1,127 redundant workers.
This was made known at a press conference held at the Sierra Leone Police headquarters in Freetown on Thursday 29th August 2018.
According to report from the Director of Operations, Madam Elizabeth Turay (in photo), the payment went on smoothly as planned with no breach to peace and security in the region.
She updated that the Njala University Students Union Elections in Bo and Mokonday were also successfully conducted with no breach to security and clarified that Fasilie Jaward emerged as winner for the Bo Campus and William Jusu Lamboi as winner for Mokonday Campus.
It was also revealed that, the Regional Headquarters, North-West is investigating three Head Masters form R.C Primary, Weslyan Primary and District Education Committee Primary Schools in Kabala who were arrested by the Police for conspiracy and corrupt practices to wit “Extorting Monies from parents and pupils to collect NPSE 2017/18 results”.
All three Head Masters, the report says, made confessional statements to the Police and currently in Police custody assisting with the investigation.
