KME’s ‘ECOFEST’

GHANA, GUINEA, NIGERIA, and LIBERIA top musicians to storm National Stadium 

Sierra Leone’s leading record label, Kabaka Multimedia and Entertainment (KME) is well set to perform a lifetime wonder in the entertainment sector as it is poised to once more surprise the people of Sierra Leone in November with the first ever “ECOFEST” Music Festival live in Sierra Leone starring Africa’s all-time Internationally recognized and hits makers to be live in Freetown. Stars from countries like GHANA, GUINEA, NIGERIA, and LIBERIA will battle it out with their Sierra Leonean counterparts under the KME Label and a host of other local musicians. Although the names of top musicians in the above countries will soon be released, KME Officials say the event will be first of its kind in Sierra Leone.

“KME is aimed at producing the best in the Sierra Leone music and entertainment industry,” says Lawyer Abu Bakarr Turay, (popularly known as Kabaka) KME’s Chief Executive Officer, and added that KME has a short history in the Sierra Leone Entertainment Industry and has been most impactful in terms of successes scored in such a short time. “No doubt our brand name is now a household name and we can boast of a record label that has millions of fans at home and abroad,” Kabaka remarked.

Lawyer Kabaka said his vision is to see young people develop and grow to a meaningful height in society. He said his company has artists drawn from all regions of the country. He pointed out that the growth of the entertainment industry will significantly boost the growth of the economy and also transforms the country’s tourism and culture, adding that currently the entertainment industry needs someone with the pedigree and integrity to give the industry a facelift. He further said that KME supports capacity building and revealed that one of theirs (Young Lee) was sent to Nigeria to study how to mix and master songs.

After an exceptionally successful launch, KME no doubt had taken up the mantle of reviving Sierra Leonean music and entertainment in an unrivaled fashion. With about nine (9) local artists having seven(7) permanently resident in Freetown, KME songs are making the greatest hits across the country and making waves in the international scene. Their biggest hit so last year was 2017 a non-violence election theme song called “Thop” that topped all charts since it was released. Another Famous hit “Kam Ya”, has been the darling of all ladies and was also top of our local charts for months. In their first compilation, KME released twenty-one (21) songs and its album has been tagged as most successful in the past five years based on song quality and acceptability amongst all cadres. The compilation is garnered with exceptional variety and has songs from various genres.

The music “Korkordor”, which was released this year, is one of the most cherished songs released by the Music Label.

KME Artistes (Rozzy, Markmuday, Blesz, Krack Twist and Samza, Future K and MIC) have been busy working out to give the lasting positive image to Salone Entertainment such as has never been seen before. The talents are brilliant. The enthusiasm is great. The atmosphere charged with anticipation as every song now that drops from their studios get the greatest welcome knowing they have successfully achieved value and a brand name to protect. KME’s regalia are most popular amongst all brands currently in the country, and have therefore heeded the calls of numerous supporters and fans to do their end of year music festival at the National Stadium.
