Why Was Charles Francis Margai Castigated?

According to a reliable source, Sierra Express Media (SEM) was informed that the shortest served Attorney General and Minister of Justice this country has ever produced, Lawyer Charles Francis Margai (in photo) was castigated by the malicious Bio led government due to fact that, during the course of executing his assigned duties, he professionally and patriotically advised the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) in a press briefing to forget that the elections are now over and that Sierra Leone is the only country we have, and if destroyed, even when someone is in his/her grave, their children will not forgive them. He categorically asserted that “This is the only country that we have and there is no alternative. Let no Minister come and tell you to go and arrest Mr. X. We have no right to arrest. You should investigate and report the matter to the PP’s office for advice. We should lodge complaints and we should not interfere with the liberty of people and if you do, you will definitely have yourself to blame. There is no order from above and do not arrest anyone from the pretext of order from above.”

The general comprehension that has transcended to a debatable topic, by the populace across the country is that Margai was acting contrary to the stipulated agenda and norms of this current democratic dispensation that most people are referring to “Juntacracy” embedded with the spirits of vengeance, political intimidations, summary dismissals, and wrongful arrests among others.

Most rational Sierra Leoneans were expecting the castigated sacking of that nationalistic former AG because he was not prepared to dance to the tune of his boss, His Excellency, the President Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio when it comes to the aforementioned issues of national retrogression.

According to Charles Francis Margai, vengeance has the tendency to debar the progress of any nation and was stressing on political tolerance, cohesiveness and doing the right thing for the advancement of the land that we love. But the controversial question that most people are asking is “Does he deserve that hasty castigation with intent?”
