Sexual Penetration On The Increase In Bonthe District
According to an exclusive interview, the District Social Service Welfare Officer of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs (MSWGCA) – Victor Kposowa has been raising vital concern on the rapid increase of sexual penetration in the aforementioned district. He exclaimed that the mentioned Ministry is not doing their job well and that performance is nothing to write home about especially when it comes to seeking the welfare of vulnerable women and children. Kposowa fervidly disclosed that there are no provisions of vehicle and logistics to administrate the district in their daily execution of duties.
“Timely support is key to our daily operations but Government through my Ministry is not providing the required supports to combat domestic crimes with the aid of legal inclusiveness. There are river side areas where severe crimes are occurring but one could not remedy those situations simply because there is no availability of even a vehicle and other prerequisites to have easy access to those remote Islands. In a month, the frequency of sexual penetration ranges from 4-6 and once in 2-3 months; child labour and human trafficking are prone to replicate. The recent rape episode of a 10 year old innocent kid who had sadly lost her life is not a good example for the Bonthe district, as the deceased aunt is desperately calling for justice as her niece died of excessive bleeding three (3) days after that cruel act. However, the matter has been handed over to the police for prosecution.” Said Mr. Kposowa.
There is a wide spread awareness campaign going on at present by the parents of affected victims in conjunction with able bodied pedophile men chasing acquitted girls in quest of satisfying their sexual desires. The utmost attention of the authority concerns is drained on this burning issue that is presently serving as cancer worm that is eating the fabrics of the growth and livelihood of the girl child in that district. The natives are claiming that their interest is not sought after they have overwhelmingly voted the new direction in.
