As they Preach Peace to over Sixty Organizations …

APC Running mate and others Launch PZ UNION

As the election schedule gets closer, the Running mate of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party, Hon.Alhaji Chernor M.Bah and others have officially launched the PZ Union with over sixty registered associations, with the theme: “Non- Violence ahead of the forth coming general elections”.

The peaceful launching ceremony which attracted APC big guns like the current minister of Trade and Industry, Captain Alieu Pat-Sowe who also doubles as APC Western Urban Regional Chairman, the Minister of Youth, Hon.Bai Mamoud Bangura, Hopeful Mayor of Freetown City Council (FCC), Madam Yvonne Aki -Sawyer, constituency endorsed candidates and councilors  among other distinguished  Sierra Leoneans was held at the PZ Round About, via Regent road, Abacha Street, Garrison Street and Wilberforce street respectively on the 27th January 2018.

In his welcome address, the Chairman, PZ Union, Mr. Ibrahim Sesay, said they are very much impressed for the large turnout of people from various business communities to grace their launching ceremony which focuses on fund raising for the PZ Union and preaching of Non-Violence messages in the forthcoming elections which is slated on the 7th March 2018.

Mr. Sesay updated that the organization was established on the 6th of October last year with the aim of nurturing business organizations through various initiatives to foster peace and security especially in their area of operations which is the central business community in Freetown.

He assured the APC representatives of their unflinching support to the party because according to them the president has done a lot in promoting the trade industry.

He appealed to fellow APC sympathizers to educate first time voters and other voters from different parties to join the APC and stressed on preaching non-violence messages throughout the electioneering period adding that the PZ Union was created for APC, which comprises more than sixty associate organizations.

Speaking on behalf of the guest speaker and flag bearer of APC, the Running mate for APC Hon.Chernor M.Bah, said his Current Boss, Dr. Samura Kamara expressed profound gratitude to PZ Union, Abacha Traders, Garrison Street, Regent road sellers, salad ground traders and other business related organizations for supporting the APC on their the nomination exercise at the National Electoral Commission (NEC) on the 26th January 2018.

He said the APC has completed the nomination process successfully without any question because according to him, the APC party is a united family that is always committed to address and promote national development adding that APC is a grassroots party which is willing and able to advocate on behalf of the people both at national and international levels.

He assured supporters that, the APC party will continue to establish more legacies especially in the area of infrastructure, energy, education, health, industrialization and agriculture for the benefit of the nation.

The Hopeful Vice President appealed to citizens to go and collect their voters’ identification cards from NEC so that they will be allowed to voter peacefully on polling day without any disturbance and brag that APC supporters always maintain maturity in elections because they are on the winning side and he admonish Sierra Leoneans to vote for APC (TOLONGBO) on polling day with the same popular formula of four 4 four (4 four 4) straight.

In his short statement, the Western Urban Regional Chairman, Hon. Captain Alieu Pat-Sowe, expressed happiness for the support the PZ Union gave the party during their nomination period and brag that, the APC party will win all the seats in the western urban district accordingly because, he said, the party has done its own assignment for the people with tangible evidence to prove.

He assured the PZ Union that the APC party will continue to work with business communities as they have being doing before to boast the trade sector to international standards.

He appealed to business people to focus on the campaign period and avoid all forms of lawlessness from fraudulent people during, before and after election.

In her humble statement, the hopeful FCC Mayor, Madam Yvonne Aki Sawyer, expressed sincere appreciation for the support that her fellow women and the general public gave her during the nomination process as the only female who is aspiring for the position of Mayor.

Madam Sawyer maintained that if elected as the next mayor of Freetown, she said, she will give Freetown a facelift where people can live together in a healthy atmosphere with peace and harmony.

She appealed to business people to vote her in because, according to her, she will advocate for standard markets with all facilities provided for them adding that she will institute health officers to monitor the daily activities of the city.
