Residents Call On Dylan Sogie-Thomas To Represent Them

Residents of Regent Community and the Western Area Rural District have called on Mr Dylan Sogie Thomas (in photo) to represent them as Chairman of the Western Area Rural District Council Chairman in the 2018 general elections. This call came in as a result of the tremendous development strides made by the young professional and philanthropists on education, social services, community development programmes and more importantly to giving the required and quality representation to the Western Rural District Council.

Mr Dylan Sogie-Thomas is a 36 years old Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA), Secretary of APC Constituency 112 and fondly referred to as the God Father in Constituency 112. He is a philanthropist and shy politician.

Mr Dylan Sogie-Thomas has been making and giving meaning to the lives of Sierra Leoneans particularly young people which has been pronounced by many as unparalleled. Since returning to the country, he has been working as senior policy analyst in the Strategy and Policy Unit (SPU) in the Office of the President, State House, appointed as Private Sector Adviser and until his recent appointment in October 2017 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sierra Leone Investment, Export and Promotion Company (SLIEPA). In his current position as CEO of SLIEPA, Mr Sogie-Thomas is currently restructuring SLIEPA to be the first point of call for all investment in Sierra Leone and position properly to facilitate exports. During his stay at State House, he served as development experts supporting Doing Business Reforms, the development of the sport policy, the development of the National Employment Policy Implementation Plan, Local Content Policy and supported the country’s reform to improve competitiveness landscape ane economic growth programmes.

An elderly resident of the Western Rural District Council Mr Mr Edward Kamara described the young philanthropists and politician as a man of his own words who understands the aspirations and plight of the locals. “He has been able to move above all forms of egoism and work with the intention of good for all,” he said. a local teacher who prefers anonymity said the Western Rural District is calling on Mr Dylan Sogie-Thomas to join the race for the Western Area Rural District Council Chairman because he has the required capacity, experience and attitude to deliver the goods to the people. A widow, Madam Margaret said Mr Sogie-Thomas is always ready to support their kids by paying school fees and supporting them with other necessaries of life.

Mr. Sogie-Thomas is a Chartered Secretary (Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators), holds an MSc. Corporate Governance, London South Bank University, a Certified Fraud Examiner, holder of a Graduate Diploma from Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and other professional certificates. He possesses a strong business and leadership record as CEO and has a deep understanding of Private Sector Development.

It is imperative therefore that the WARDC is calling on Mr Sogie Thomas to join the race for chairman of WARDC. He is the right man for the job, they said.
