Pampana ends sensitization meeting
Pampana Communication which aims at informing, educating and communicating through raising consciousness in society held a two day orientation workshop targeting peer educators selected to conduct the outreach sensitization on HIV/AIDS for in and out of school youths in Waterloo.
Pampana Communications which is also geared towards developing theatre in Sierra Leone for both entertainment purposes and development work utilizes audio visual unit and production of documentaries.
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (M&E) Mr. Babatunde Hashim of Pampana Communications noted that the outreach sensitization targeted senior secondary schools and vocational institutes at the Waterloo community and its environs on condom use and voluntary testing on HIV/AIDS is essential. He added that communication skills which his organisation deals with is pivotal and form part of the sensitization in relation to healthy practices on HIV/AIDS.
Pampana has been a partner with National Aids Secretariat (NAS) in the global fund project as SSR and later SR since its inception which makes them credible after the enactment of the simple application process (SAP) that brought them on board to undertake outreach programmes in schools and communities in the Western urban and rural. According to the M&E officers, the organisation has undertook series of interventions in the implementation of quarter eight (8) in the global fund (SAP) HIV/AIDS project, maintaining that they targeted bigger communities where their outreach team sensitize young people in Ataya Bases, ghettos, lorry parks, youth centers, hotspot and other outlets.
The outreach team was able to undertake effective voluntary testing in the Western Rural District on HIV/AIDS under the pragmatic aid of Nurse Jestina Kabba.
