Lands Ministry is the most corrupt institution state Civilians

Citizens and non-citizens across the country have alleged that the Ministry of Lands Country Planning and the Environment is the most corrupt Ministry in the country.

They made this claim as a result of the endemic land conflicts happening every now and then which have claimed the lives of countless Sierra Leoneans and other nationals since time in memorial and has still not been addressed but rather keep increasing by the day. According to many of those this medium interfaced with, the ministry is the cause of all the problems surrounding the land system in the country. They claimed that corrupt officials in the ministry are the ones selling the same portion of land to many individuals there by creating endless conflict for the ownership of the said land.

Many ministers have come and gone, but yet, this problem has still not been adequately addressed by any of them. ‘’It is really a shame to the nation’’ they averred.  Every now and then, we hear about land conflicts here there in which various parties produce documents given to them by the same ministry in claiming ownership of the said land leaving the puzzle of whom within the ministry that provided the documents to the conflicting parties unanswered. ‘’This has from time in memorial been the practice of unscrupulous individuals within the ministry of lands but they have still not been weed out’’ they bemoaned.

The people are therefore asking as to when this corruption in the ministry will stop and when would land conflicts become a thing of the past?
