On Network Connectivity Airtel Orange makes another landmark

Airtel/Orange, which happens to be the leading mobile operator in Sierra Leone has scored another landmark achievement on network connectivity placing them above the communications ladder.

Airtel/Orange is currently investing over $30 million on network connectivity as well as lifting the bar high on communication in line with international standards. According to investigation, the company is said to have embarked on massive transformation already evident with the current installations of new communications devices that has changed the face of communication for good.

At a community meeting held in a remote village in the north, one of the indigenes said the expansion of AIRTEL/ ORANGE in Krubola, Sinkronia is a testament to show that much improvement has been made to add value to the facilities provided by the company.

Kantha Kamara said before this time communication for them was very terrible explaining how they used to walk over ten miles just to make or receive phone calls.

“Our people have suffered a lot , but with the outstanding work of NATCOM Chairman, Momoh Konteh we have seen a lot of progress now in place by mobile operators. Airtel/ Orange is now chasing Africell and this is what we described as fair competition. We strongly believe that communication in this country will soon rise to meet international standards as long as much effort is paid to beefing up the sector”.

He added that Africell has also been doing extremely well with their facilities making inroads in many remote areas for which he strongly believe are part of the new innovative ideas. He enjoined on government to make sure that the standards on communication does not fall so as to make the public feel good at all times.

Ibrahim Bundu from Sinkronia, a local farmer said, the recent development put out by Airtel/ Orange has made it easier for them to enjoy communication at its highest peak. Bundu said Sierra Leone as a nation does not only need strong institutions but strong leaders like the NATCOM Chairman, Momoh Konte whose intervention and proactive moves is the reason why mobile operators are keeping to their promises today. He applauded the commission’s effort on all the good things they have been doing for the masses and as well commend the management of both Airtel and Africell for holding the forth in communication.

A Freetown base analyst described the recent work of Airtel as something good for this nation hence the reason why members of the public must appreciate them. He spoke positive things about the two mobile companies and as well call on NATCOM to pardon them on grounds of challenges faced in running the company.
