President Koroma Delivers on Promises

Although opposition politicians are everywhere trumpeting that, President Koroma’s APC led Government does little in addressing bread and butter issue but they are still refusing to accept the reality that the current administration has done a lot in creating education and road  infrastructural development, strengthening  energy, health and maintained peace and security among others.

Many past Presidents were campaigning with the idea of “I will bring light, construct roads, improve agriculture, advance education, strengthen the health sector and create jobs but they failed to achieve none of the above until President Koroma who prioritizes certain developmental sectors.

Some are saying that education deteriorated  in President Koroma’s era, yes, they might be right but they should also know that learning does not only involves sitting in classrooms but there must be a well prepared structure that can accommodates hundreds or thousands of learners.

In fact, that is the reason many believed that President Koroma has achieved more successes in terms of creating educational structures. It is true that this is the very first time in the history of this country after many decades to see certain higher learning institutions like the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM) transformed in a way that it can now accommodates more students than in the past.

President Koroma’s tenure of office saw massive road construction both in Freetown municipality where he constructed various dual carriage ways and every nook and cranny of the country.

Koroma’s administration also exhibited coordinating effort in centralizing the energy supply which enables many provincial headquarters including Makeni City boasting of enjoying twenty four hours non-stop electricity supply despite recent challenge of the fused Apator meters that faces EDSA.

The deadly Ebola outbreak exposed our inherited weak health system with few medical professionals but it is visible that many health centers have been built and empowered with modern medical equipment. The Free Health Care which came in to existence in 2010 has rescued targeted beneficiaries including pregnant women, lactating mothers and under five children.

The country is now quiet, calm and peaceful because Government lays emphasis on the issue of empowering the security sector to continue maintaining our hard won peace so that no unscrupulous people will intimidate others to cause chaos. In that regard, the United Nations World Tourism Organization classed the country as the fastest growing tourist destination.
