My 16-year old son, Idrissa Salam Conteh Jr, is one of two students invited from the TC Williams Senior High School in Alexandria to Harvard University in Boston, Massachusetts  to attend a three-day seminar with renown American scientists.

According to references of the invitation, Junior as been invited for his outstanding and consistent performance in all science subjects including mathematics in which has been scoring A’s.

Junior has been invited by 11 top universities that have proposed scholarships to him either to study science or engineering.

The offer of space for the young man to study Science and Technology at Harvard University in Boston came to the family as a pleasant surprise.

The 3 day seminar at Harvard will take place from 29 June to 1 July. It entails hearing words of encouragements and inspirational speeches from high profile scientists whose goal is to prepare future scientists who will eventually succeed them in the domain.

Each student will receive a certificate of achievement from Harvard University at the end of the seminar. They will also take photos with the scientists and the event will be given a full media coverage.

Junior’s younger brother, Hashim, has also received 7 certificates in this academic year for outstanding academic performance. The two brothers are consistently in the honor roll for science.

Please friends, brothers and sisters, join me in congratulating both Junior and Hashim for making us proud as a nation.

I had never thought Junior could be a Harvard material. Bravo Big Boy! Bravo Hash.
