At a ceremony scheduled to take place on 7th May 2010, at the River of Life Hall, Hatcham Road, Off Ilderton Road, South East London, the United Kingdom Branch of AWOL will not only be launched, but also be endorsed by the Supreme Council and Executive of AWOL World-wide.

The day will also see the launching of the Sierra Leone 50th Anniversary Campaign with DJ Lulu and popular American-based Sierra Leonean rap star LAJ performing as guest artists.

Four executive members of the Supreme Council: Moseray Fadika, Chernor Cherikoko Bah, Sahr Ngegba and Jounior Anthony Navo, are travelling to London next week to grace what promises to be one of the biggest hits of a Sierra Leonean gathering in the United Kingdom.

The programme will also see important Sierra Leonean and foreign dignitaries including members of the Sierra Leone High Commission in the United Kingdom present.

Formed last year in May, the United Kingdom branch of AWOL believes there is need to compliment the effort of members of AWOL Sierra Leone whom they say have been making tremendous contributions towards national development.

“We admire their commitment and dedication towards national development and believes we have to take up their foot steps in complimenting their good works,” said AWOL Chairman Thomas Kommeh commonly known as TFDK.

Kommeh said as a branch, they want to build upon the trust and good relationship amongst Sierra Leoneans here in the United Kingdom.
