In Sierra Leone: Usu Boie Kamara bounces back
January 27, 2016 – Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Usman Boie Kamara arrived at Lungi International Airport onboard Brussels Airline, amidst pomp and pageantry.
The charismatic Trade Minister, who spent several months in London on medical leave, alighted the plane hail and healthy as he beamed with a smile.
Usu Boie was visibly moved by the mammoth crowd of Sierra Leoneans at the airport bracing to welcome him back home.
In his brief statement to the welcoming crowd, the Trade and Industry Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to them for putting their daily activities aside to warmly welcome him back home. He described the move as a demonstration of their love and care for him.
He told the jubilant crowd that he has finally returned home from London recharged with renewed vigour and heightened spirit to continue serving the Government of President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma in line with the Agenda for Prosperity.
Usu Boie appealed to all Sierra Leoneans to pray fervently for President Koroma for God’s guidance for the good work he is doing and to continue doing it.
He said we should thank God as a nation for having a good leader that is always ready to serve his people diligently.
The Minister maintained he has returned home to work assiduously so that the President’s dream of making the country a better place for all Sierra Leoneans will be actualized before he leaves office.
He also admonished Sierra Leoneans to support the efforts of President Koroma to complete his massive development strides nationwide before he leaves office.
Usu Boie emphasized the need to improve the country’s health sector since most Sierra Leoneans do not have the means to travel abroad for medical treatment.
The Minister commended his colleague Ministers, Parliamentarians and all Government officials whose hands were firmly on deck while he was on medical leave. He entreated them to continue with the good work.
The Minister also commended members and supporters of the governing All People’s Congress (APC) for promoting the cause of the party with great resilience, adding that even when he was away, he was still with them in spirit, though not in body.
The Trade and Industry Minister therefore pledged to continue promoting party activities to attract more support nationwide in order to win the next national elections with consummate ease, noting that the exemplary performance of President Koroma is their victory ticket for the next presidential election.
Sierra Leoneans who stormed the Lungi International Airport to welcome the compassionate and selfless politician included parliamentarians, stalwarts and supporters of the ruling APC, Imams and many of their congregation members, market women, youth groups, and media practitioners, among others.
Minister Usman Boie Kamara was accompanied to Sierra Leone by his wife, Mrs. Isata Boie Kamara, his son, Mamoud Boie Kamara, and his daughter who bears the name of her mother.
