No Salary for Jurors Since 1994

Investigation carried out by Sierra Express Media has revealed that the jurors who are playing a significant role in the dispensation of justice in Sierra Leone have been going without pay since 1994.

According to information gathered by this press, the last time Jurors received stipend from the judiciary was in 1994, when special trial was held for back log cases during which each of them received 50,000 Leones after which they have never been paid a single cent.

Further information gathered disclosed that the payment of Jurors was championed by the former Consultant Master and Registrar, Julio Sakodi Mensah. The issue reportedly died down as soon as the Consultant Master and Registrar left office and returned to Ghana.
