International Gospel Singer Pleads

Sierra Leone’s most popular and influential international gospel female musician, Millicent Rhodes, in a recent interview with this press pleads with governments and NGOs stating that the issue of trauma and poverty caused by the outbreak of the Ebola virus to people living in the three (3) Mano River Union countries Guinea, Sierra Leone ad Liberia is serious and that though we may be looking at the scourge getting over, we should double our efforts and bring a final end to the deadly virus. She revealed that people in this part of the world are supportive of developmental initiatives and that pioneers making effective developmental platform here will also have the opportunity to make this part of the world one of the happiest places to live and do business.

Rhodes thanks leaders of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea and their development partners for staging a desperate a sacrificial effort to bring the scourge to an end.

Millicent Rhodes said women and children are mostly considered vulnerable and live to suffer in the midst of the current health issues especially those that lose their parents during the civil war in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Guinea followed by an outbreak of the Ebola virus that has rein another ‘food for thought’ among our leaders and the people in general.

Catching up with her this week, recording her vocals in the Forensic musical recording studio on circular road in Freetown, the hardworking gospel musician disclosed that she is working on her next eight track gospel musical album title “Heaven on Earth” that is expected to be released this year.

With five successful gospel musical albums to her credit as Praise Melody, Wonder Marvelously, Blazing Praise, Anointed Worship and Virtues Woman, the brave singer disclosed that the music industry especially in Sierra Leone halted because of the outbreak of the Ebola virus was making living very miserable for many musicians and artistes living in the country.

In the midst of these difficulties and the passion for the children especially the girl-child that suffer early and unwanted pregnancy caused by poverty, the humanitarian singer said that she decided to work with Save the Children International in Sierra Leone as a platform to contribute and bring hopes to these children.

“I enjoy working for Save the Children, a Non-governmental Organization in Sierra Leone. Rhodes said. Adding, the plans and actions of the potential humanitarian group is her long time dream”.

Millicent Rhodes further said that the children deserve the fullest of love and care and for this reason among others she decided to use the gospel musical trend to preach to the people to love and to care for all especially the children.

Winner of the Presidential Medal Awards and Order of the Regent, 2013, and ambassador of Save the Children International, the brave and influential singer was in Maryland, Philadelphia, Boston, Ney York City, New Jersey and other states in the United States of America and in London, Manchester, Norway, Gambia, Guinea, Gambia among others around the world to promote the gospel of love through music and entertainment and received the Best African Gospel Artiste Award USA organized by Voice of America(VOA) sensational presenter and producer David Vandi, reliable sources reveal.

Millicent Rhodes further said that with the help of Save the Children International, other NGOs, Winners Chapel International and other promoters, her wish is to use Heaven on Earth musical album and to promote peace building, love, care and stability and support for children through musical concerts globally.

Millicent Rhodes thanks President Ernest Bai Koroma especially the people of Sierra Leone for been courageous in the fight against Ebola encouraging everyone to be very conscious that the lifting of the State of Public Health Emergency does not mean the President has announced Ebola is over.

Rhodes calls on the people to be law abiding till that time.
